Cultural Highlights

Over the past 100 years, Glendale has grown from a small community on the edge of Los Angeles into a diverse and dynamic city in Los Angeles County. Today Glendale is the 4th largest city in Los Angeles County surrounded by some of Southern California's leading commerce centers, including downtown L.A. Universal City, Media Center Burbank, Hollywood and Pasadena. Consistently listed as one of the safest cities in America and the city’s abundant amenities make Glendale a favored place to office and call home.
 
For residents and businesses alike Glendale is a full-service city offering 1st class amenities with its own police and fire departments, a wholly-owned municipal utility company offering water and power and a complete public works department to maintain city infrastructure. Cultural opportunities for lifelong Learning with the world-class Brand Library, arts and entertainment, organized sports and recreation and large open spaces for hiking and adventure. The legendary Alex theater and unique shopping districts anchored by the Glendale Galleria and the Americana at Brand are across from the Museum of Neon Art.

The city is also home to Glendale Community College serving approximately 25,000 day and evening students. The Glendale Unified School District operates 31 schools instructing approximately 21,000 culturally diverse students.

 

Glendale is well-known for its regional dominance in Financial Services, Tech and Entertainment Companies along Brand Boulevard. Shopping fans are in luck because there's the Americana at Brand to explore, which was brought to Glendale by the same company that developed LA’s famous The Grove retail destination. It has a dancing fountain and lots of eateries and bars so you never go hungry or thirsty while shopping here. Catch an 18-screen movie after browsing 80 retailers in this city! In addition we are home to Galleria I & II one of the southlands more successful indoor malls

Step Away from the shopping opportunities is a bustling mini-mecca of cafés shops and culture including the original Porto’s Bakery & Cafe which offers delicious Cuban sandwiches and endless mouthwatering pastries. There is no shortage of amazing Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food in Glendale, whether at fine dining restaurants or convenience options.

Glendale has a variety of outdoor activity options including Deukmejian Wilderness Park that sits at the northern point of Glendale and offers more than 700 acres with wildflowers and paths which include an easy walk on Dunsmore Canyon Trail. The view from this trail showcases sweeping valley views below.

Freeway Access

Glendale enjoys exceptional accessibility with its immediate access to 134, 2 and interstate 5 freeways. The 134 Ventura Freeway leads to both the 2 Freeway and 210 Freeways, with interstate 5 Freeways leading to the 10, 110 and 118 Freeways. Only minutes to/from the Burbank-Glendale -Pasadena Airport and Glendale’s well placed METRO/Amtrak make getting in & out of Glendale easy.
